What’s Important Now, The One Question That Makes Change Easy

What’s Important Now, is the one question that makes change easy whether that be self, body, and or life improvements…

Can you imagine getting up every day not knowing what you were going to do, having to think anew each day, what your priorities are?

In a word, “no,” but all of us can remember days when that was true, whether in-between jobs, post/pre ventures, during periods when there was lack of clarity, after a major event, or perhaps during a pandemic.

But’s what’s the easiest way to avoid that, to change and improve even if your routine is broken?

First, it’s to know what you stand for. It’s having an overarching philosophy for your life and style of living that is not dependent on jobs, ventures, or full engagement by the rest of the world for you to act on.

But all of this leads to naturally asking the question, what’s important now?

If you gain mastery of that question”What’s Important Now” in your own life, even if the answer points to you now developing the overarching philosophy, that will forever answer that question…

and help you develop the Interest + Practice + Purpose + Hope that Angela Duckworth outlines as the four psychological assets we can cultivate to get your grit on; change can become easy.

But it goes even deeper than that.

Imagine as part of your overarching philosophy for how you are living your life (Your Lifestyle), you didn’t even have to think about what you were going to do? For example, what types of foods you’re going to eat? You knew your food quality standard (what), why, how you were going to eat those foods with at least some mastery over the variety of ways to eat “that way,” you knew when you eat, and how to respond when your circumstances were not optimal?

And you enjoyed it!

Now, what needs to be done, gets even easier!

Think about how much time you would save from meandering around with the “eat whatever, whenever” approach that most people have. You would also know what to improve and how to improve it because you are clear.

That’s just one of many examples I could give you but I like to default to that simple example because people eat 1-6 times per day.

“You can eat whatever you want but you can’t eat whatever, whenever, and get the results you want.” ~ JAM

As an entrepreneur, I don’t have time to make decisions over and over again. I’m sure you can relate.

I also want my decisions to take me in the direction I want. The last thing I have time for is making up for lost time because of the negative consequences that we’re developing over time.

Do you?

So for example I don’t cope with stress by eating poorly. Surely that would at some point distract and hold me back in a way that was not quick resolvable, and it will do the same thing to you.

So what do you do?

Like any other aspect of your life and style of living, you’ve got to establish your food quality standard, and gain some mastery over how you eat, keeping in mind the short and long-term outcomes you want, like energy, health, performance, and longevity.

Do this across all aspects of your lifestyle, with emphasis on managing your energy, and pretty soon, you’ll be able to keep your eye on the life/family, business or career, sporting or creative pursuits that are important to you in your life, and not how you are going to achieve them.

When you make the essential lifestyle changes improvement is easy, What’s Important Now becomes the operative question in your life. Now, what needs to be done!
